Marlie was rescued in the nick of time. Marlie was living in a tiny town in Nebraska, abandon and was afraid of people. She was living in a broken down school bus, pregnant and alone fending for herself. Her guardian angel, Sherry, was called to see if she could help Marlie. Marlie came to Sherry and Sherry knew that this dog needed help immediately. Sherry took her home and talked to Almost Home about Marlie. The next day Marlie was transported to Almost Homeand 2 days later Marlie had 10 babies! The last puppy born was dead, but the rest were healthy. Marlie was in rough shape, emaciated, had a horrible ear and eye infection, and emotionally scarred from all she had been though.
Almost Home purchased high quality canned puppy food for Marlie, supplements and vitamins. Slowly she gained weight and regained her health. The puppies thrived. Today, 5/6/07, the puppies are 5 weeks old. There are 6 girls and 3 boys. All are up for adoption and will be ready for new homes around 8 weeks old and only after they are spayed and neutered. We are accepting applications for adoption now.
Marlie has come so far in foster care! She trusts her foster family and is a perfect angel to have around. Marlie is housebroken and has good manners. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is good with children. Marlie does get a little nervous in new situations and sometimes around men, but has come a long way in this area. She just needs an owner who understands her and will work with her, and most of all be patient. Marlie needs a very special home- she is a very special dog to everyone at Almost Home!
Marlie will be spayed, utd shots, kennel cough vaccinated, heartworm tested. Her adoption donation is $150. We require an adoption application, references, adoption contract and home visit. We only adopt to families in SD, MN, NE, ND, IA.
