My Story

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. This dog is currently located in: Texas Name: Marshall (20230714-06) Weight: 74 Lbs Age: 1.5 Years DOB: 11-14-22 Gender: Male Breed: Black Mouth Cur Mix Color: Brown Neck (for collar): 18 Chest circumference (for harness): 32 Height (from top of head): 29 Length (from nose to base of tail): 39 Crate Size recommended: 48 Good With Adults: Yes Good With Kids: Yes Good With other Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Was around a cat as a younger puppy and got along fine. House Trained: Will need to be monitored to start with in a new environment Crate Trained: Yes Energy Level: Medium. Can be handled/touched: Yes Barker: Not a lot Flight Risk: No Food Aggressive: Not that I have seen. He eats in his kennel alone. Current Food: Diamond and Purina Dog Chow How Much and Often: 3 ½ to 4 Cups a day 1 time a day due to my schedule Walks on Leash: Very nervous walking on leash as he hasn’t had to be on leash much. I will continue working with him. Rides well in car: He rides in a crate in the car. He is a little nervous of the car because he doesn’t have to go in a car very often. Destructive: Due to having several pups in room he is in a kennel most the time inside. Has not been destructive. Still needs close monitoring to start with. Has been a very good pup. Needs Home with Yard: yes. He has always had a fenced yard to play in Needs Home with another Dog: No. He plays with siblings and foster siblings here so is used to having a playmate, but loves people attention so as long as he gets plenty of attention he would probably be happy. Can live in Apartment: No. Foster Insights/ Backstory: Marshall and his siblings were a unwanted litter that needed help. Owner of the daddy dog reached out for help. His dog had passed away before the babies were born and owner of the female dog didn’t want the puppies. Marshall and siblings have been with us since they were 6 weeks old. They are very sweet playful pups looking for a family of their own!! Marshall is more confident than some of his siblings. He will still be a little shy to start with but he will warm up quickly. He has been with me for over a year so a new home will be a big change. He has a very sweet calm peronality. Loves to show off his unique tongue!
