Meet Martha May! Martha May is currently fostered in Texas with her amazing foster family (and canine siblings!), but is available for out of state adoption to the perfect individual, couple, or family! Martha May is a 9 month old Shepherd mix. Martha currently weighs around 40 pounds. Fully grown, per her breed, we expect Martha May to be a large-sized dog! In Dallas, Martha and her sweet siblings (Cindy and Max) were found by their foster parents roaming around as strays. Afraid to leave them at a shelter - and with no other options, Martha's dedicated foster family kept her and her siblings - and have continued to raise them into the well-behaved, sweet pups they are. As expected from her breed, Martha is intelligent, quick to learn, and very eager to please. She sits and waits for her meals with the patience of a saint—or at least until you say "Okay." She's currently mastering the basics like "stay" and "down" with a little help from her favorite treats. Martha is described by her foster family as 'very smart, sweet, and well socialized!' Martha's foster home consists of four large dogs of various breeds - all of who Martha plays and interacts very well with! She enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well in a home with another canine companion! She has not yet been exposed or tested with cats. A spirited game of fetch with anyone willing to throw the ball, and engaging play sessions with her siblings and the big dogs in her foster home. She's got a playful nibble to her style, suggesting a home with older children might be ideal. Martha enjoys running around in her big fenced-in backyard with her canine foster siblings - and loves a good game of catch! She would be a wonderful companion for someone who is active, likes to hike, or is looking for just a walking companion! Martha's foster family describes her as versatile. With their full-time work schedules, Martha is able to relax at home comfortably during the day. Martha May is crate trained, but when left alone, she is un-destructive, making her the perfect housemate. She likes to chew on her Benebones, play with toys, and can keep herself busy! As for the perfect home? Martha May dreams of a family that embraces her playful spirit and commits to her ongoing education. Obedience training classes are on her wish list, not just for the learning but for the bonding experience it promises. Quick to learn and eager to please, Martha May is poised to be not just a pet, but a true companion. Martha is spayed, heartworm negative, microchipped, and fully vetted!
