Please don’t let that pretty face and your desire to have a wire make you want him without reading his bio. He is a sweet sweet boy but he has separation anxiety. As long as you are around, he’s sweet, smart and playful with other young small dogs but when you are gone, he worries you won’t come back so you’ll need experience with “separation anxiety” or willing to work with him to get him over it. He has gotten better since he’s been in rescue so our hope is that with your help when you adopt him that he’ll get over this hurtle. He is friendly with people, dogs and cats. Likes playing fetch or just playing with a toy but his favorite is playing with the other young foster dogs. He is a wonderful sweet, loving boy and deserves the best of homes but we are going to be careful where he goes. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
