UPDATE: Mary needs a surgery that requires 6 weeks of recuperation time, however we are still taking applicaitons for her but please note she will not be available until mid-late February to her new forever home - thanks, SOD rescue Mary is a sweet little bulldog who was used for breeding then abandoned. Despite a very rough life before now, It was apparent right from the get go that Mary is a lovely, sweet natured and friendly dog. She continues to bloom and show her adorable personality. As with most bulldogs, Mary does not come without problems. She has a heart condition however, it should not impact her overall health and lifespan and requires no medications. She also had an concern with some seizures while in foster care. She is currently on an anti-seizure medication and has shown no further neurological signs. We are hoping it was a one-time incident. She will need to continue on these medications until cleared by a veterinarian. Because of surgery and motherhood, Mary’s bladder is not as strong as it should be. Therefore, it’s important that she get outside often otherwise she may have accidents in the house. This has improved and should continue improve with time. Mary loves to be around people and craves attention from everyone she meets, she should be in a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods of time. She gets along fine with cats and dogs. She needs a family who will be patient and willing to work on training her as she requires basic obedience training (sit, stay, down etc), We suspect that Mary is approximately 4 years old, she is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
