My Story

Name: Marzipan Purebred/Mix: purebred Age: 1 year Gender: female Spay/Neuter: spayed Current on vaccinations: yes Heartworm status: negative Current on heartworm prevention: yes Microchipped: yes Good with dogs: I have not seen her with other dogs, she was not kennel aggressive according to the vet tech, but she was barking at dogs on the way inside. Good with kids: Marzipan was around children ages 2 years to 17, but she was on leash mostly. She loved getting treats from the 2 year old and was gentle taking treats when told to be gentle. Good with cats: I am unsure how Marzipan would be with cats. She has seen our cats from a distance and did not bark, but our cats did not stay around. Housebroken: Mostly, she had a few accidents Crate trained: Marzipan goes in the crate in the car, but does not go in a crate at home she has her playpen area inside Temperament: Marzipan is playful and sweet. She wants to share her toys and loves interacting with people. She loves attention but wants to play all the time. She loves playing fetch, and being outside. She likes to be with us if she knows we are nearby. Behavioral issues: Marzipan has bad manners for jumping on me and does not always want to listen. With me she will jump while on leash without a training collar. She has the ability to learn and was progressing well, I do not have the time to spend training her. Reason for surrender: I absolutely love Marzipan, but I cannot meet her needs. Marzipan was sent to me 2 months ago because her family could not care for her. They did not have the time for Marzipan, and I did not want her going to a shelter. I work too much, I take care of my disabled siblings, and I have an elderly cat that is scared of Marzipan.
