He is part of a bonded pair of siblings/brothers. We are only looking to place them in a home together. Mateo and his brother, Bear, came to us when they were part of an accidental litter. The owner reached out for assistance to a rescue partner of ours who assisted with spaying and neutering the parents of the litter. She took on 2 of the puppies from the litter and we were able to help with the other two by taking them into our rescue. Mateo and his brother, Bear are male, 8 month old, Pekingese puppies. We have pictures of both parents and can confirm that they are definitely Pekingese. We think there might even be a touch of Brussels Griffon? All we know is that they are absolutely adorable! Mateo has a gorgeous silky black coat and he is the bigger of the two boys. He will come shy, but it doesn't take him long to open up. Once he does, he is confidant and definitely the leader of the two. He loves affection and loves to cuddle! He will bark at little noises, but not terribly. Both dogs are definitely attention starved and must have owners that work from home and/or not gone long hours during the day. Former owners of brachycephalic (flat faced) dogs are a plus along with being puppy savvy! These two playful pups definitely need a safe and secure yard as we believe they were never let outside. An adult only home would be best. Kids 13 years old and older would be ok. Potential adopters must know that these two are not potty trained and will definitely need owners who will work with them on this. They are very smart and will catch on quickly. We do not want them crated. We just got these two boys and are still learning their personalities, but from what we can see...they are perfection! Matteo and Bear are vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered soon. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.
