Maverick

Maverick is a special boy. He came to us after being abused and then abandoned. The day he was rescued, he rode home on a volunteer's lap and leaned into her the whole time. It's like he knew he was finally safe. Maverick is as sweet as can be and will give kisses all day long. He is a young guy with a LOT of energy. He would benefit from agility training, daily walks, and an experienced owner. Maverick's pas has left him with some emotional scars. Maverick has separation anxiety and takes medication twice a day to help ease his nerves. When he comes out of his kennel, he is super excited, but he's just a normal dog when playing in the yard. He doesn't care for being leashed (it may bring back some bad memories), but once it's on, he walks like an angel. Maverick has never been aggressive and adores all of the volunteers, especially when they have treats. We feel he would do well in a home with children 10+ due to his size and energy. Bottom line...Maverick needs an understanding owner who is willing to spend quality time with him. He also needs a 6 ft securely fenced yard since he can jump very high. He is more than worth it!
