My name is MAX and I'm a darling 6yr M Maltese. I'm 8 lbs of PURE LIL RASCAL. I'm being rehomed due to a "domestic conflict". Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the men in the home, I just don't trust them and will bark at them and they started calling me "Mad Max":( I'm sure I react this way because I was abused by a man in the past, but no one knows for sure because I was adopted from a shelter. I know with the right conditioning I could be ok with men but my current family is giving up on me. I'm absolutely fine with women and other dogs but I've never met any cats. I do like to bark at other dogs on walks and I can get a little manic when someone comes to the door/enters the home or when I'm in the yard and there's a dog in the next yard at the fence... yeah I'd say I'm territorial... but I'm a very sweet loving little boy when given the chance. I need someone who is going to work with me to get over my "dominant insecure" tendencies and not feel sorry for me but will help me become a more balanced dog. I need an ADULT ONLY HOME (i.e no young children) with a woman that is strong willed, patient and tolerant and has had previous experience with dogs that are "not perfect" I know if you give me the support and conditioning I need I know I can be the silly sweet wonderful companion and your BFF.
