Max AKA Cooper x (Tripod)

Cooper AKA Max is a 1 year old male tweenie dachshund. He's underweight at 12.5 pounds but we expect him to be more like 16 when he is at a healthy weight. Max is a tripod and was born without a full front right leg. He has part of the leg but whomever adopts him should be prepared that he might need a prosthetic or a custom front wheelchair. He also may develop arthritis in his front leg/shoulder due to his abnormal gait. He gets around just fine now as a young pup. However, we are looking for someone with the resources to commit to him even as a senior. Max is as sweet as can be and is good with other dogs, almost all people and cats that don't run that he knows. However, with strangers or dogs he doesn't know, he may bark or growl. He needs a dachshund savvy home that can slowly and safely introduce him to new people. He is stunning and insists on sleeping in bed with his person. He has some separation anxiety and doesn't do well in a crate when you leave the house. He will be neutered in late July and then be ready for a forever home about two weeks after this date when we can booster his final vaccines.
