My name is Maxwell! I'm an adorable male Golden Retreiver mix who was born around 03/04/24! I'm 19 lbs., heartworm-negative, current on my vaccines, and most importantly, I'm waiting for a family to love. When I was found, I was suffering from skin issues and massive hair loss. After getting care and being in a loving foster home, I'm doing great and my coat has come in nicely! My foster mom says this about me: "Max is very smart, playful, energetic, great with kids, dogs and cats. House-broken. He knows sit, lay, shake and speak. Loves to play with other dogs. He is super sweet and very well behaved. Please apply to adopt me TODAY and take me to my new home! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
