Meiko was found as a stray in Northern California and landed in a shelter. He was underweight, already neutered and his age is estimated at 6 years (possibly younger). Meiko is good with other dogs and is friendly with people (even the vets!). He is possessive of his favorite bone (which he can spend hours gnawing on) and will give you a little growl if he thinks you will take it, so he probably shouldn't be around young kids (who tend to wave crackers/food in their hands and may want to borrow a yummy dog bone without asking). This boy loves food and cuddles, adores being outside, but if given the choice will follow you around or hang inside with you. He is independent, would be fine in a home where people work/out of home. He will give a little bark in the morning to let you know it's time for outside potty trip. He is about 39 pounds, but could still benefit from adding a few pounds. He is fostering in Southern California.
