Hi! My name is Melissa. So lets talk about why I am here at the rescue. This is my short, sad story. Where I lived with my mom and dad had a fire. My mom didn't make it from the fire. My dad was in poor health and the fire didn't help. So he could no longer care for me and my brother. My brother and I were staying with a neighbor till she could find some place for us to live. My brother got a home but I didn't. The rescue finally had room for me and here I am. It is sad but I am doing well. I am a very loving, happy girl. I have a smile on my face all the time. Things I like are attention and snuggles from my person. Top on the list. Food is up there too! I am working to get my girlish figure back, some what but I did have pups once. 15 in my one and only litter. Still haven't bounce back from that. I like being outside and taking walks. I love the water. I like cats and or dogs. Kids too. I have had UTI's now and again and when I do I have some accidents from time to time. Other then that I am house trained. I keep a tidy kennel. I can get excited when playing and I can get a bit mouth/nippy but if told no or OUCH (even though it doesn't really hurt) I stop. I am a social butterfly. I like walks but normally not on leash so I am working on doing a better job on leash. I do know simple commends such as sit. For the most part I am a calm, easy going girl that would be happy being a couch potato and your snuggle bug. I would really like it if we could do that very soon.
