Memi (Needs a home with other dogs)

Memi is a beautiful, apx 3 yr old, 50 lb. Carolina Dog / Lab mix with big soulful eyes, ears, and an even bigger personality who was saved from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded NC shelter. She is house-trained, rests well in a crate, is not destructive when left alone, and rarely barks. She is very food motivated and super dog-friendly. Her favorite activities are going for walks and car rides. And it so cute when she walks, watching those golden ears flop!! Here’s what her foster dad has to say: “We believe she’s had some very rough hands handling her in the past, so she takes nothing for granted when she finds someone who won't be mean to her. That's really all she asks for - a gentle hand to guide her. At first, Memi may be a little wary of strange people and dogs so she needs a confident leader to show her she is safe now. Bonding, patience, and time plus extra TLC and gentle positive reinforcement will continue helping her overcome any fears. And of course, being food motivated helps alot! Memi is perfect for someone looking for a total love bug though, like 24/7. Seriously, you will never feel alone or unappreciated or unloved with this girl! She very *deeply* appreciates your time and affection. Memi is *very* dog friendly, and she really NEEDS at least one other high-energy fursibling to play with. She is currently being fostered among a pack of 8 other dogs and she is very comfortable. The most I've had to do is teach her manners to respect the other dogs’ cues, like backing off when they don't want to play anymore, etc.” This is a sweet, sweet girl with an awesome personality who needs a loving and warm family to call her own.
