Merlin $475

Merlin is a wonderful dog & very loved in her foster home. She's a Chow Chow, & her adopters should have some understanding of her breed. Although she warms up quickly, she tends to be cautious in the beginning. She's skittish around children and new people. She loves car rides and would be happy to join her person on any adventures. Families with older children will be considered on a case by case basis. Children will need to be able to control their behavior around her. She's done well with the dogs she's met, but after raising her puppies she might also love to be the only pet getting all of the attention. She loves to go on walks, usually keeping a loose leash & she doesn't bark when passing other people or dogs. She will need a strong handler for when she sees small animals and pulls on her leash. She's not been around cats, but she's very interested in the small critters like squirrels & bunnies that she's seen outside & might want to chase a cat. She's calm & relaxed at home, but also is up for a little playtime. She's mostly potty trained & does okay in her crate, but also has been trusted to not get into trouble when given free roam. Merlin has bilateral medially luxating patellas- grade 3 and 4. Although this doesn't appear to have an affect on her quality of life now, she could need surgical intervention in the future.
