Mia

This is Mia! She is a beautiful 6-year-old terrier mix. Mia can be nervous when put into new situations or when meeting new people but give her a little extra time and she will win your heart! Mia is a dog who will require multiple meets and greets as it takes time for her to adjust to new people and new situations. Due to Mia being people and dog selective she is often overlooked which unfortunately has made her our longest stay. Mia has been at the shelter for over three years now! Luckily for Mia, she has a team of amazing staff and volunteers rooting for her to find a new home. Due to the generosity of wonderful volunteers who love her, her adoption fee is sponsored. Mia absolutely loves car rides, pup cups, chicken nuggets, belly rubs, and the outdoors. While Mia tends to be shy, she bonds very deeply with her people and is just the sweetest once you befriend her. She also turns into a total goofball when she's comfortable around you! Once you are part of her pack, she never forgets you. She is extremely loyal and would make an amazing companion for someone. Since Mia has a "stranger danger" mentality we recommend putting her in a spare room or crate while visitors are over so she can be introduced to them slowly and properly. Our new staff and volunteers win her over with treats or exposure. We've had many, many people become part of Mia's pack over the years, and we're confident you can, too.
