Hey there, I'm Mia, a resilient 7 to 8-year-old Husky with a heart full of love and a story of incredible courage. I might be blind due to untreated diabetes, but my spirit shines brighter than ever. I came to Ruby Whiskers almost three months ago when I was in dire need of care. I had developed pyometra after giving birth and was also heartworm positive. My condition was so severe that I lost over 40 pounds before being surrendered. Today, I weigh 38 pounds and am still quite thin, despite eating three meals a day and taking 8 units of Vetsulin twice daily. But don't worry, I'm a fighter! I just finished my heartworm treatment two weeks ago. Despite my health challenges, I'm a sweetheart who gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and people of all ages. I spend most of my day napping and resting, but I always perk up for walks. I love strolling to the little creek behind our house and do great on a leash. My gentle nature and enduring strength make me a truly special companion. I might need a little extra care, but the love and gratitude I give in return are immeasurable.
