Mickey

Meet Mickey! He is a 1 year old 60lb Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. The Catahoula is the state dog of Louisiana which is where Mickey is from. He has gorgeous green eyes and gets compliments everywhere he goes. Mickey was found as a stray as a young pup and taken to a rural Louisiana shelter in summer 2023. He was there for 3 months before he was pulled by rescue. Since being in foster care, Mickey has been enjoying life! He is crate trained and has taken right to house training. Typical of young sporting breed dogs, Mickey is an active boy who loves to play with other dogs and play fetch. He also enjoys going on neighborhood walks. He will definitely need some forms of exercise each day to help him be the best boy he can be. While he enjoys his couch potato time (just check out his photos), it comes after a game of fetch or a brisk walk. He is smart and trainable and would likely do well in obedience or agility classes. He is a fun loving dog who is ready for his next adventure! Mickey's foster mom says, "Mickey loves to play - especially fetch! He is friendly, sweet, playful, and loving! Upon rescue, he did test positive for heartworm, but is breezing through treatment. Mickey will be heartworm free and ready for a forever home in June.
