My Story

Mike was on the streets of Baytown Texas for at least 2 weeks, and no one could take him in when his foster picked him up and got him into Camo rescue! He has done so well since coming indoors and having a family even if it is just a foster family! Mike is currently learning house manners in his foster home. He would benefit from having a patient adopter who understands that good boys need training to become the best of boys. Mike is still learning this fine art and is very smart. Mike is a 41-pound-year-old puppy! He is an adult dog but still has some puppy qualities! Mike has yet to meet a stranger! He loves every human and dog he has met! He is a more submissive pup, meaning he takes corrections from cats, humans, and other dogs. He is living in a house with 4 other dogs in size from 10lbs - to 90lbs and ages 4 months - to 14 years, 6 cats, a foster mom, and grandma! Sometimes wants to play rougher than the cats do but will leave them alone when they don't want to play with him. Mike is such a happy boy you would never believe he went through bad times! But there are still some things about life and love he is learning. Mike has been with his foster family for a month and improved so much, he impresses his foster mom all the time! Mike has gone from being afraid of cats, the kennel, being alone, the car, and not knowing what to do with toys, to playing with cats, not enjoying being alone but ok with it, and is slowly forgiving the cars for whatever they did wrong and slowly starting to enjoy car rides! He has learned about toys and loves them! On day 3 Mike picked a small squeaky duck toy and took it to bed with him and only played with it for a few days as if it were his security blanket. At first, he would not share that one toy he would not share and kept in his kennel at first, he has come around and shared it now, but his foster mom doesn't make him share his duck! He is not possessive of anything else. He is not the best at fetching, he prefers to play keep away or chase with other dogs to fetch but he might learn! Mike is 85% kennel trained sometimes still needing encouragement to go into his kennel but not fighting it and is content once in the kennel. Mike is a great dog! He will do well in a family with other pets or might enjoy being an only child! He has shown his ability to adapt, grow, and overcome in a short time and deserves his own family to love and trust and never leave him again! Adoption fee is $400 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022
