My Story

Miko is a special boy! He survived a prior owner that allowed him and his 7 doggy siblings to starve and they allowed them to get hurt on the property. The dogs received no vet care. Miko and his siblings were confiscated by our local shelter and a medical plea was sent out to rescues for assistance. Miko was emaciated, he had wounds all over his body and one of his front legs had multiple old fractures and permanent radial nerve damage. His leg could not be surgically repaired so he underwent amputation surgery, and he healed from quickly. Miko gained weight and he adjusted to becoming a tripaw. Miko is in a foster home with multiple dogs, and he enjoys playing with them. He is around young children, and he has been calm and friendly. He is a little shy at first and he needs a few minutes to get used to new people/situations. He is nervous getting in a car at first, but after he is inside the vehicle, he enjoys the ride. His foster family is working with him to help him get more socialized/new experiences. He walks pretty well on leash, but we only do short walks due to being a tripaw. Miko is able to go up and down a few steps at a time. Being a tripaw is not stopping him from living his best life. Miko will do well with a family that wants a companion that can be a couch potato as well as enjoy play time outside. Personality traits Playful, Independent, Couch potato, Loves kisses, Smart
