If interested, please contact the foster him. Petfinder Profiles doesn’t always work. Miller is a 4 month old (probably mixed) red heeler puppy that was rescued from a Georgia shelter. He is the sweetest little guy, equal parts velcro/snuggly and independent, and adores everyone he meets. Miller wants to be where you are, following you around in true cattle dog fashion and helping with everything. When he’s tired of shadowing you, he will grab a toy and lay in the sun or take a nap on his bed inside. He looooves rolling over for a good long belly rub and a game of fetch with a soccer ball. Miller is more on the submissive/ timid side. Loves to explore but is cautious. He ignores the vacuum and lawn mower. He is just starting to find his voice, and will sometimes bark at the back door if he needs to go out. Miller is doing great with his housebreaking but will need reinforcement in his next home. He has been working on basic obedience, has a solid “sit”, “drop it”, and “come”, walks well on leash, and loves a car ride. Miller sleeps through the night on a dog bed in a gated off room and does well in a crate at night as well. He is working through some separation anxiety when left home alone crated and will need someone to reassure him and continue training, or someone that is home a lot to be the other half to his Velcro. He is currently living with 2 young kids, he loves playing with them and letting them love on him. As with herding breeds, Miller can be nippy when playing, but takes redirection well. He is playful but not obsessive with cats. He doesn’t currently live with any other dogs but has had good introductions with other dogs. He is great as an only dog, but would also love a playmate. Miller is up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Due to his age, he will be adopted out with a neuter contract.
