This amazing dog is Millie!
Millie was brought to us. We suspect that she was abused. Her father was in failing health and they could not have her anymore.
She was guarding the male owner from the female owner and they didn’t know what to do for her moving forward.
We discussed a home that has a more positive approach on training. So we are looking for a family that wants a dog that is smart and loves to train.
Her birthday is 4/12/22. She is a German shepherd dog and Australia shepherd mix!
We know that a family that understands these breeds would be perfect for her because she reflects a lot of their typical behaviors.
We have gotten her up to date on vaccine, heartworm test, microchip and monthly preventative. She has recently been spayed.
She loves to play, sunbath, take naps by your feet and her dog bed. She loves walking and smelling. She is not fully leash trained but is easy to walk!
Her foster brings her to work everyday and she loves greetings everyone! She just runs from person to person to get love or a snack! She rides great in the car.
She waits at the car door or any door if you ask her to wait (learned quickly). She also knows sit and lay! We are work on other manners like staying down and off!
Millie is not good with other animals at this point because she guards her human fosters from them. It causes a fight. So until that behavior is addressed we are not sending her home with other animals.
Foster Notes:
Will try to push out door but doesn’t want to leave your side, use does not want to be left. Same with at a kennel door, she will hold your hand in her mouth because she does not want to be left. *** update, learning very well now***
When she is bored or has to be locked up and can not see you she is vocal. A bit of separation anxiety even.
She can be picky about food and treats. She definitely wants wet food.
She loves men, still good with women but loves men!
Still learning not to jump on you or counters
If you give her things to chew on she chews on what you provide.
Not destructive when left alone.
Never has accidents in the house. Prefers to not potty on a leas, rarely even pees on a walk. Never has pooped on a walk.
Will bark at someone new around the car but as soon as we get out she does fine.
She sometimes gets worried that you are going to hit her. She doesn’t like her collar grabbed. When she comes up to you she tries to get as long to the ground as possible. All behaviors normal with abuse.
Adoption fee 275.00
