My Story
Meet this beautiful girl, Miss Millie! Millie has brought so much joy to her foster home and is easy to love, she’s sure to make you smile and laugh daily.
Millie is 6 years old and 40 pounds of sweetness. Don’t let this girl’s age fool you, she’s still got plenty of energy and that perfect mix of chill and play, and requires both.
Millie is smart, obedient, quiet in the house, loves snuggles, and playful with her humans. She’s simply a fun, warm and entertaining companion. She loves for walks and will bring her toys to you and try to coax you into some fun. She’s also very content finding a sunny spot to look out the window. She is also very chill when left home solo, and will happily nap the day away to greet you on your return.
This girl lives for food, walks, her rope toy (anything tug of war), a tennis ball, hanging out with you when it's time for bed, head scratches, car rides, and her foster grandma and grandpa’s house. She’s not big on barking but will let you know when someone’s at the door.
Millie has been through a lot of changes in her life and its important her forever family understands and appreciates this. She is very people motivated, but new people require calm intros with plenty of treats so she can show off her happy self! She’d do best in a quiet home without frequent guests and with kids over 14. She has done well with meeting younger kids (8 and 11) but those slow intros are important to her feeling safe as she can get slightly anxious at first in new social situations. Once she knows you, it doesn’t take long, she’s golden.
Millie would especially love a fully fenced yard to run freely. She could work on her leash manners but its only because she’s so excited to explore! Millie can be overstimulated by other dogs and given some negative past experiences, she’s still figuring out how she feels. She's conflicted with a mix of excitement, wanting to play but anxious on first meeting. With a dog-savvy owner and slow intros with known pups, she could become friends if temperaments align. She should be a solo resident pup however.
Millie brings so much joy and laughter to her foster home and has such a unique personality that is pure joy to be around. If you think Millie could be the canine companion you’re looking for, fill out an application using the link below to learn more!
