11/25/06* Millie was attacked by an aggressive dog and nearly died. She was rushed to the vets where they had to do emergency surgery. She may lose the use of one of her legs as a result, we aren't sure yet. She is being hospitalized and her vet bill is staggering. If you'd like to donate toward her medical fund, please visit our website on the link below. Also please contact us ASAP if you'd like to help by fostering Millie when she's ready to leave the hospital.
Millie is an adorable blue tick coonhound, probably mixed with a little beagle? She may be a small purebred blue tick, but she is smaller than usual. Right now she is a little chunky, but she is on a weight loss regimen and will soon be down to her girlish figure and be around 40 pounds or so. She is 5 years old and a very easygoing girl. She likes other dogs and is very happy to just be lounging in your house with you. She's just adorable and she looks at you with those big brown eyes!! Millie was on the euthanasia list at the county shelter due to overcrowding. We saved her on her last day and hope to find her a new leash on life!! She really deserves it.
She will be an easy dog to have around. She is housebroken, mellow and perfectly well-behaved.

UPDATE 12/06/05 Millie is getting out of the hospital next week. The good news is that she will not lose her leg and her recovery is coming along nicely. We have an astronomical vet bill for her, so please please consider making a donation! No amount is too small - it will help us to keep helping more dogs.
UPDATE 12/13/05 Millie came home from the hospital and is doing great. She is walking on her leg and recovering well. We are still actively looking for a foster home or permanent home for her. The wound care is not difficult. We are faced with a vet bill of over $5000 and would appreciate any donations!! By getting help from the outside from caring people, it will allow us to do this again for the next dog!!
