Minnie and Mickey were picked up together as strays. Presumed to be siblings, they are both estimated to be around a year old, so not expected to get much bigger than their current weight of about 30 lbs. With very different colors and markings, the iPhone sees Minnie as a jack russell terrier mix. Her lean lines also suggest whippet, but that will make the DNA guessing game all the more fun.
Minnie is shy at first but warms up if you are down on her level, but it is still a good idea to let any new dog approach you so the dog is free to explore but not be overwhelmed by lots of approaching hands. Timidity is amplified by being scared, so the best method to buddy up to a new dog is to get down on the floor and let them do the rest!
Neither walks on a leash very well, but at least they don’t pull, and as they are walked more and more, that will improve over time.
