Miss Lola

Meet Miss Lola! Lola is a super sweet girl who adores human affection- both adult and children! Lola loves being near her foster mom and dad and enjoys being pet. Lola has a four year old (human) foster sister who loves her, and the love is mutual. She doesn't mind kids getting rowdy and she's so sweet and polite. Lola is very well house-trained and while she does not need to be crated, she does sleep in her crate at night. While Lola is a pretty good leash walker, she does have a tendency to pull a little bit on her leash. We believe with a harness this can be easily corrected. Miss Lola is diabetic. She is currently wearing a continuous glucose monitor that her foster scans every 8 hours for the vet to determine her optimal insulin dose. The glucose monitor is temporary but she will continue to take insulin twice a day. Lola has made administration of insulin an easy part of her day for her foster. While Lola came to our care underweight, we are working on helping her get to a healthier weight. When Lola was introduced to other dogs in her foster home she was generally indifferent to them. Lola is good at being crated with other dogs around, and will respect baby gates. She has shown no barrier aggression, and is not aggressive to the sight of other dogs. Still we recommend she is a solo dog in her home due to resource guarding with food that can become aggressive. She should not be in a home with cats. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
