I was living in a high-kill shelter in Missouri, after being surrendered by my previous owners, when CARE came to my rescue. Upon my arrival in Skokie, I was placed in a fabulous foster home, where I immediately showed what an easy-going, adaptable gal I am. My foster mom describes me as highly human interactive-meaning I just want to be with my people but am not at all needy or anxious. During the day, if you're doing household chores or working from home, I'll be right near you, entertaining myself with a chew toy and napping. At night, when you're ready to settle in for some TV time, I'll snuggle in close on the couch (or lie next to your feet if you don't want me on the furniture). Aside from schmoozing with everyone I meet-human and canine-playing fetch is one of my favorite activities. I'm proud to say I not only retrieve the ball but also return it and drop it, ready for another toss. I'm a quick learner, have mastered some basic commands, and would love for you to teach me more. I really enjoy going on walks, though my leash mannersdefinitely need work. I'm strong, and those speedy squirrels are ever so tempting! I'm potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out. I prefer to do my business off-leash, so I'd appreciate a fenced backyard. Finally, I tolerate the crate, but my foster mom says I don't reallyneed to be crated as I'm totally trustworthy in the house.
