Mojave - Available From Foster

Meet Mojave! Mojave came into our care at HSCC when his guardian was moving and could not take him along. Mojave, an HSCC staff favorite, is a very special pup who will make a wonderful companion for a lucky and patient adopter. Mojave is a dog who absolutely thrives around other dogs and it is important that he go to a home with a dog (or two, or three)! This quiet, bashful boy blossoms when in the company of confident canine companions! Looking to expand your dog pack? Mojave wants to join your crew! A reserved and submissive soul, Mojave does take some time to realize that you are a friend.. but once he trusts you, his super sweet and charming side will shine right through and you've made a loyal life partner. Mojave is currently living a lavish lifestyle in an HSCC foster home. Lucky lad Mojave is able to spend his time frolicking through fields with dog pals, sunbathing on the deck, wading through water, fetching favorite toys, bounding through wooded trails- a dog's dream come true! His fabulous foster pawrent says: "Mojave has come a long way since he started with us. I have to say that with the help of the other dogs, watching and learning from them, he was able to start to gain confidence around us within the first week... We, humans though, are still 2nd fiddle to other dogs. He loves other dogs. Loves, loves, loves them. We would say he is very good at "reading the room" and will match the energy and/or playstyle of other dogs. He's not in the rough and rowdy crew, but not exactly gentle and dainty, somewhere in-between. If the dogs want to play, he's all in... if we are in chill-out time, he's all about a good spot in the sun or shade to relax... He has 100% great house-manners. He also is still great in his crate. He loves riding in the car. He will jump right in, and stick his head out the window for the car ride. He has decent leash manners too! He does pull a bit, but when I say "stop pulling me" he actually gets it! Lol He is super easy, very fun, laid back and very willing to learn and it's easy to respect his needs to feel safe." This mellow man is ready to be your constant companion and sidekick for awesome adventures! It is important for Mojave's next home to be able to provide him the space and safety that he needs to thrive! An ideal home for Mojave would be in a quiet, rural area as he has been unable to cope with upbeat urban environments in the past.
