My Story

This girl a story to tell. She was picked up and brought to a very high kill shelter in NC that holds dogs for 5 days before euthanizing them with gas. Two days after arriving, she gave birth to 9 pups. Time was running out and things were not looking good for Molly or her pups. We were able to rescue this family with the help of a local rescue group who were willing and able to foster them for a few days.

Molly is a wonderful, friendly girl. There is no doubt that she was cared for and loved at some point in her life. She has big, brown eyes that are very gentle and kind. Her coat is soft and shiney. She is trusting and well mannered. She is about 2 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. We don't know what her breed mix is but gave it our best guess. She gets along well with other dogs and does fine with cats.

Molly has tested positive for heartworms. This is a common problem in the North Carolina area where she comes from. She is being treated with Heartguard which is a monthly pill that kills all baby heartworms in her system. The adult heartworms will die in time and be absorbed by the body. Her adoptive family must be willing to make sure she gets her monthly treatment until her system is clear.
