MONA is about 25 - 3 yo and 8#s...true Chihuahua. She can be very affectionate but it does take her a while to warm up. Her puppy life consisted of living outside (in Texas) and not being handled much. After she was brought to the rescue in Texas she had to go through a transition to learn how wonderful it is to have human attention. She eventually became cordial and even loved going outside with my sister on the 10-acre horse ranch and she loved running and playing with the other dogs. The farm animals did not scare her which included pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, donkey, horses, etc. She has since transported to Washington and doing very well at her foster home. She especially loves the fosters husband. Yes it took a few weeks, but then she does great. In Texas she was fine with cats. The foster in W Wa does not have any cats.
Because she takes a few weeks to warm up to new people we say NO children. Older children who understand (teenagers and up). However, Mona should not be in a noisy/high traffic home.
