My Story

Hi, my name is Mono and this is what you should know about me! Daily Routine: I'm a young, active boy who my foster mom describes me as a sponge - ready and willing to learn new things! I sleep all night on mom's bed, then it's time for potty, breakfast, and then some fun! I look for toys to play with but my foster sister insists they are all hers. I have lots of fun out on a walk where I have to sniff everything! But in between, foster mom has to work so I am in a crate, where I have to bark to let her know of my displeasure, but then I settle quickly until she returns. What I love to do: I love love love being with my people! Perhaps I'm a little too enthusiastic because foster mom tells me "Four on the floor" a lot. I'm learning. I just love being with my people. And seeing everything at their level. And everything is so interesting, like people and dogs walking past our house, or the smells outside in the yard! Personal goals: Foster mom says while I'm so very sweet, I do need to learn some basic manners, like not jumping up on the dining room table; or trying to crawl up on her when she is sitting down... remember, I'm young and I'm learning. On a better note, foster mom is very impressed that I am housetrained! Unless of course she doesn't pay attention to what I'm trying to tell her. Then all bets are off. Favorite thing to do with my best friend: My foster sister (a GSD) is very nice to me and lets me know when I am intruding on her space. She is nice about it, though. I am just a young pup and love being with my foster mom and am interested in all that goes on in the world around me! Kind of family I want: My previous family didn't have time for me since there were two other dogs and a newborn baby. It wasn't my fault, I was nice to all of them! I would be fine with other dogs in the family. I'm not sure what a newborn baby is, but I think I would be ok! I also don't know what cats are. Or at least, I'm not telling. I'm just a nice young boy ready to learn whatever you want me to learn! Biggest fears: Haha I'm too young to be afraid of anything! Ideal weekend plans: I am an active young boy. Please plan to provide me with age appropriate stimuli, like toys that I can fetch (tennis balls are really interesting). I LOVE to sniff when out on a walk but foster mom says I need to not pull like I do. But the big wide world is so exciting, it gets the best of me!! And then I have to tell you all about it! Remember, I'm a beagle! :) To apply to adopt Mono, please fill out the application under the "Adoption" heading on our website www.bassetbuddiesrescue.org where you can also find other information about the adoption process.
