You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Monte came to the shelter as an owner surrender on July 23rd. He will be 7 years old in December. There's likely some yorkie in his DNA, but he weighs around 16 pounds, so he's not quite "teacup" size! His appearance reminds us of the Australian and cairn terrier, too. He's a nice boy who likes to play fetch and cuddle with his people. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Monte lived in the same home for his entire life (until now). He's looking for a somewhat quiet and calm home in which he is not left alone for long hours. He has done okay with other dogs as long as they respect his space. He does get nervous around larger dogs. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are okay. Cats shouldn't be a problem. He will require some regular grooming to keep his coat tangle free. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Check your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
