Montego Max

GSRNC invites you to meet one of the newest irresistible members of our rescue family, Montego Max! Max is a gorgeous black and tan, affectionate, and playful boy, with iconic erect ears sitting high on his head ready to receive instruction! At 5 months old and just under 50 pounds, this growing boy will instantaneously steal your heart and seamlessly transition into your family. See Montego Max in action! Max is living in the perfect foster home complete with other dogs, cats, and children. He is an all-around affectionate, energetic, and curious pup who will confidently explore his surroundings with or without a companion. Everywhere he goes, Max brings with him much joy and laughter. He is very quiet and cautious around strangers but once he gets to know a person, they are considered a new best friend. Even at this young age, Max respects cues from his four-legged siblings when they declare play is over. Likewise, when playtime is over with his humans, he will happily go find a favorite toy to chew on, wrestle with, or snuggle into and take a nap. Max has lots of puppy energy and luckily for his fosters, enjoys being outside. He gets really excited for walks, especially if they include a long hike. He is learning proper leash manners so with training and a pocket full of yummy treats, it should not take long for him to perfect these skills. There is no question that Max is going to make a great walking, hiking, and outdoor companion. Basic training is going well having mastered the sit, stay, and come commands. He is still working on crate and potty training. When outside, Max does not dig, jump over fences, or nuisance bark, but is enamored with rocks so will still need supervision. Max will thrive in a home that can provide him plenty of exercise, stimulating playtime activities, and lots of love.
