MONTY IMMEDIATE FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED Monty is 3 years old. He came to us in need of medical care for a broken leg. The broken leg struggled to heal for quite some time because he kept breaking and ripping the cast off. His healing also went poorly because he loves to jump and run around even inside a dog crate! The shelter environment has made this a challenge. His leg is much better but still swells up on occasion when he has been too rowdy. We are looking for a home without other dogs. He can and has lived with cats although he will bother them when he gets the chance. One of our fosters kept him in her home for a time and reported to us a much more laid back and affectionate dog than what we see here at the shelter. Although being truly laid back was still rare in the foster home, it was far more frequent. Children should be 10 years and older depending on the children and he may be too much for some adults at times as well! He is human friendly but does love to take every chance to mouth our hands and the leash. During the brief moments of him being calm, he does want attention and enjoys being loved on. Being outside in a yard with us is prime time for a chance to see Monty in a rare calmer state! If you cannot personally take him in, please SHARE. This is very important for Monty that he finds a place meant for him more quickly as he is a very high energy dog, and the shelter environment is more anxiety inducing for him and dogs like him.
