My Story

No need to fear our charming Mor'du! Meet Mor'du! Mor'du is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue section). Adventurous and funny, Mor'du has long black and tan fur and the sweetest little face. He really is a little ball of fluff. We believe he is a corgi/shepherd mix who will be a large size dog when fully grown. The wisps have led Mor'du and his siblings of the Brave litter from a Texas shelter to our rescue in Spokane where they are seeking their forever homes. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Mor'du. Mor'duwill be old enough for adoption on or about August 8, 2024, and he will be neutered before going to live with his adopter. While the Mor'du from the movie Brave is a scary, evil bear, our Mor'du is loving, affectionate, and would spend all day sleeping in your lap if you let him. He is a lover, not a fighter. He loves toys, playing tug of war with toy ropes, giving kisses, and receiving pets (though not in that order). A social boy, Mor'du always needs to know what his siblings are doing (he can be very vocal if he thinks he is being left out of the fun). He is a curious pup who is learning about the world around him, and he does not want to miss a thing! Born on June 11, 2024, Mor'du is a very young puppy. He has started potty training and still sleeps in a puppy pile in a pen with his siblings; he will begin leash, crate, and obedience training as soon as he is old enough to do so. Mor'du's ideal home? A young puppy, he loves everyone and everything. His ideal home would have people to love, who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Neat toys to play with and daily walks and adventures. And lots of attention! Does this sound like your home? Want to meet Mor'du? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! We promise you will not need a witch'swe mean, wood carver's, help to bring your furry friend home. What is Path of Hope's Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family. (The process may differ slightly for long distance adopters.) Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog's transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
