Update 11/12/09 From Mossy's Foster Mom: Mossy has been with me for three awesome weeks! She is an amazing girl. Mossy is 76 pounds, and a young 8 years old with grey around her mouth. She is said to be a Lab/Golden mix but several people have suggested a Newfie mix. Mossy is obedient, smart, sweet, gentle, loving, playful, full of kisses, loves to be loved and loves to give love. She enjoys her belly rubs, loves to go for walks and explore, is thrilled to go for rides in the car, likes jumping in the river, entertains herself with tennis balls, tree branches and frisbees while we walk. She is very respectful and is well mannered. Mossy has not exhibited any bad habits in the three weeks she has been visiting. She loves everything and everyone except cats. She cannot be adopted to a home with kitties. In the time I have had Mossy, I have not heard her bark.
Mossy is not the type of girl who likes to be left on a tie out or in the backyard, she prefers to be with her family. I take her everywhere I go and everyone thats meets her, loves her.
Please join Mossy at Pet Quarters in Newington, NH Sunday, Nov 15 between 11-2. Once you meet this beautiful girl you will fall madly in love as she is the perfect companion! Or see Mossy on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdS314pR43w&feature=player_embedded

Update 10/28/09 Mossy, an 8 year old lab/golden, has arrived at her new foster home and is settling in nicely. Mossy' foster mom describes her as "the perfect dog." Mossy is housetrained, leash trained and rides very well in the car. She is very affectionate, friendly, alert, playful, obedient, gentle, gets along with other dogs, loves walks, has a medium energy level and is very loving. It's hard to believe she is 8 years old, she acts more like 4. Mossy loves belly rubs. She exhibits no food aggression or any other bad habits. No counter surfing, interest in garbage, doesn't beg for food, she doesn't even climb on furniture even after an invitation. Mossy doesn't like cats.
Mossy is approximately 8 years old in these pictures taken in May 2009 at our partner shelter in Arkansas. She came back to the shelter after her owner could no longer keep her. Mossy has quickly become a shelter favorite as she is so loving and friendly. She does great on the leash. While she gets along with all the dogs and DOES NOT get along with cats. Mossy so enjoys running in the fenced yard.
This sweet girl is used to being in a home and was houebroken and well behaved. When the her owner got divorced and had to move in with family, Mossy was kept outside on a chain. She was on one for about 2 years.
Mossy went to the vet on August 7 for her Rabies, a fecal, and a Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia test. She was positive for Ehrlichia and has been treated. Mossy is on HW preventative. She weighed 76.2 pounds
