My Story

Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation. PREGNANT NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS - NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 7/9/2024: Mother Earth - female - approx 2 years old - 10.2 (pregnant) pounds - Yorkie/Chihuahua Reason for intake: Mother Earth came to us from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. She came in as a stray with a very round belly. It's clear she's had multiple litters in her life. This will be her last. She's heading to our vet on Wednesday, July 10th, for a few things and for an x-ray to determine about how many pups she's expecting and an approx due date. Stay tuned! NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.416768288349589&type=3 OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
