Their Story:
Mouse is a senior (8+ years) ages rough coated collie that came to the shelter as a stray late August. This poor girl was obviously through some tough stuff. She came in extremely matted and just filthy. Almost every inch of hair was matted. She has a small growth on her eye. She's going to the groomer ASAP, and will be checked out by the vet. For being in such bad condition, Mouse is active and friendly, an all over sweet heart! She is older aged, and moves kind of slow, but still can't wait to get out and play. Once she gets cleaned up we're positive that Mouse will feel much better, and when her fur grows back out she'll be a gorgeous girl! If you're interested in Mouse so far, please call the shelter and meet this baby girl, you won't regret it!

Update- Mouse has been shaved! All but her head had to be shaved off, which shows a very pitiful looking girl. Her condition was bad. Mouse still looks a little shaggy, and awkward, but it will all be fixed given time. She's still a very friendly girl, and is already feeling better now that she's not all matted up. Mouse is a big girl despite her name. She's in need of some TLC, and a very special home.

Our adoption policys include: No same day adoption. This is to ensure that there are no impulse buys. If you currently have animals or had animals in the past, we need to check with the vet clinic to make sure they are up-to-date on vaccinations. We now require proof of home-ownership due to some landlords not allowing pets. There are also some animals that need to be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter at the new owners expense. These are known as the prespay or preneuters. These animals include purebreds and bully breeds (the pitbull type breeds) for the dogs, purebreds for the cats, and all rabbits must be spayed or neutered before leaving the building. You can call the shelter at 382-4832 if you have any questions.
