My Story

Courtesy Posting: OCEANSIDE/SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (S CAL)- ID #886803 AT SAN DIEGO HUMANE SOCIETY URGENT – MAJESTIC PUREBRED LOOKING, YOUNGER CHOW BOY IN NEED OF A LOVING, CHOW SAVVY RESPONSIBLE HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP - WHO CAN HELP? PLS CONTACT ROBIN FOR HELP OR WITH INTEREST. Please help us find a loving, chow savvy responsible home for this younger chow boy who the shelter has fondly named “Mufasa” after he was brought to the San Diego shelter. Unbelievably, he was found as a stray and stuck between a fence and wall, possibly for days. He also had a rope tightly tied around his neck where he had to be sedated just to remove it. Understandably scared initially, shelter staff and trainers has been patiently working with him. He now enjoys being pet on his head, as well going on social walks with other dogs which we have video of. The shelter noted he has not had much interest in other dogs though which is typical of the breed. However, if you do have another dog, the shelter would like to do a meet and greet. Otherwise, they would like to place in him in a calmer home, and definitely with someone familiar with the breed who will be patient with him after all he has been though. Mufasa is listed as 3 years young, and weighs 51 lbs, so he is slightly smaller than the average male chow. If you are interested to adopt this deserving boy, and have prior chow experience, please contact the shelter directly using this link: https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/77637/40330310 or by calling and ask about ID number 886803. Be sure to watch the new video we received from the Oceanside team: https://youtube.com/shorts/jPGfSZcfnhY Mufasa has recently been neutered and is ready to go home. If you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt or helping, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who can try to pair fosters with a willing rescue group. We will be posting updates, more pictures and videos on Mufasa’s facebook page at: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10165198580233125&id=783968124&mibextid=cr9u03 Note: to view contents of links you will need to copy and paste them separately into your browser.
