Murphy

Murphy has now been in a loving foster home for 7 weeks, being raised with two older, trained dogs. Here is his foster family’s update: -Murphy has a stunning brindle coat of black, silver and flecks of gold. -Murphy LOVES WATER mastering swimming, retrieving toys and sticks from the lake and hanging out with lots of visitors and company. -Tail wags and friendly approaches to all people he meets. -Low level barker even though resident dogs bark . -Because house training is on track for a 6 month old pup, he has been given choice of sleeping in open crate or on a cushion uncrated. He does both, still quite accepting of crate. -His sister’s DNA testing came back, and just like his vet guessed…he is a total mix breed. DNA showed a mix of 15 breeds that included Akita, Golden Retriever, Lab, Border Collie, Australian cattle dog among many more. It also showed that sister was clear in genetic testing of 58 genetic conditions (the good thing about mixed breeds is they aren’t predisposed to conditions). But that mix shows why he’s so smart, trainable, friendly. Also came back with low shedding and potential for 42 to 61 lbs adult weight. -This is a great dog. His sister’s adopters report that “everyone, including their vet, says they won the puppy lottery in adopting her”.
