My Story

Ooba is a 1-1.5 year old, 67 pound, male wooly who came into the Yuba County Animal Shelter as a stray. Ooba is a very playful boy and although he sometimes gets carried away with other dogs, if he has a female companion that will let him know enough is enough, he heeds her warnings.

You will find that Ooba is very gentle, affectionate and will just sit quietly next to you, whether you let him on your furniture or he's on the floor at your feet. Outside he'll sleep next to the door or in his dog house until you say it is time to come in. He walks well on a leash, loves to play and is housetrained. Ooba has recently recovered from entropian (eye surgery) which corrected the lazy eye look you see in his picture. The surgery went well, his stitches are now gone and he is healing nicely. Even with surgery, however, he never once slowed down. Ooba also has the distinctive happy prance of the Malamute and with his beautiful long coat, has definitely made himself an eye catcher. On top of all this, he is neutered, microchipped, current on all his shots and tested negative for heartworm.
