Orleans is being adopted by the Baker's and their 7 year old daughter! They have had staffordshire bull terriers for the last 17 years, and decided that it was time to give a rescue pit bull a good home. He is off to Kelowna to live the good life.
Orleans has just arrived here from Missisippi. He is nwo 9 weeks old, and a fiesty, eager to please, teach me more kind of guy! He has great eye contact, loves to play with toys, and is just fabulous. He currently is taking multi-vitamins because he has rickets due to mualnutrition. He shoudl be good as new in a few weeks, and is otherwise in great shape!
His original family evacuated with him from New Orleans, and made it all the way to MS. The humans found shelter, but they could not find a place to keep their new puppy. Orleans, as his rescuers have named him, was left outside in the back of their pick-up truck. Word spread that there was a pup in dire need of assistance and a local animal rescue found the pups family in order to try to find better accomodations for the pup. The family decided to relinquish Orleans to rescue because they were unable to care for him properly. The rescue brought him to their vets, but had nowhere permanent for him to go. Once again, word spread of Orleans plight, and he is now on his way up to Canada.
Orleans will not be ready to head to his new home until mid-October, as we want to ensure that he is healthy before going home with his forever family.
