My Story

Osa is about 2 years old. Very mellow and sweet, affectionate. Owner surrender. About 60 lbs. She has an all pink tongue, unlike chows, which indicates she may be golden retriever or aussie also. She has a short tail. Chows have black tongues. She has very white, clean teeth. She gets along fine with other dogs and cats. She doesn't bark much. Rides inside a vehicle well and likes to ride. Likes to go on walks with the pack. Stays close, doesn't wander too far. A perfect buddy! The Chow Chow is an ancient breed that originated in China more than 2000 years ago. They were an all purpose breed used for hunting, herding, pulling, and protection now they are primarily companion dogs. The Chow Chow is a masterpiece of dignity and beauty. They possess the unique characteristic of having a blue-black tongue and have an elegant prancing walk. They are keenly intelligent, have an independent spirit, and display a dignified demeanor. The Chow Chow is generally polite and patient. They are very loyal and friendly with their family, but reserved with strangers. They often will become attached to and protective of one particular member of the family. They are can be stubborn and definitely have a mind of their own. They get along well with older children. The Chow expects to be treated with respect.
