Oscar needs a break. He has had too many episodes in his short life. Oscar lived in a very sad house that was filled with animals. Too many to be properly cared for. Once Oscar was finally freed from that situation and brought to a shelter he then had to face a condition called Heartworm. Luckily a rescue group pulled Oscar from certain death and gave him the proper treatment he needed however heartworm treatment can be draining on a dog's body. He has successfully completed his treatment but needs another month of low activity to be completely healed. Oscar needs a quiet home with a new family to call his own. Someone that will know his name and give him the love he was deprived of before. Surprisingly Oscar is very very mild mannered. He loves to be near people and is a couch potato. A lot of the quietness probably has to do with his treatment as these type of dogs are usually much more active. Oscar's photo is before treatment and you can see that he has some agility in him. SARL reserves the right to refuse to adopt to any applicant. By requesting information on an animal and initiating the screening process, it is not a guarantee that particular animal is yours to adopt. SARL does not place our pets on a "first come, first served" basis. We only adopt to local candidates who are able to visit our shelter and never ship any of our pets regardless of the suitability of the prospective home.
