My Story

I like that old time rock and roll… the kind of Pyr Puppy who just soothes my soul! Oops, those aren’t the words, but we have a litter of 9 fluffy Pyr pups who will rock your world! Who is your favorite Rock Star?-we have them all- Mick, Ozzy, Bowie, Axl, Ringo (5 boys) and Janis, Tina, Stevie, & Aretha (4 girls). Sweet, lovable Ozzy is loving life playing with his siblings and his mama who is teaching him dog manners! They were born on April 10 to mama Cruella after she and their daddy Courage were surrendered to rescue. Ozzy is a lovable boy who adores his people, and spending his time romping in the yard, napping, playing some more, followed by more naps and lovin’ by his people! Ozzy gets along with everyone and is being raised with kitties, other dogs of all sizes and visiting children. Ozzy and his siblings are learning housebreaking, and all kinds of great things to prepare for their forever families. He will need a home with a big canine sibling and a secure fenced yard to patrol. Is your family looking for a Pyr pup to join your band and help you have the best summer ever? If so, Ozzy is your boy, as he is ready to spread his wings for his next rockin’ adventure! NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
