My Story

Meet Pablo the 1.5 year old “Pug Bull.” We actually aren’t sure if Pablo is really a Pug Bull or some other mix, but we know he’s 100% adorable. Pablo is medium sized dog weighing 35 pounds. We absolutely love his underbite, especially when his lips get stuck behind his bottom teeth. He takes his time in selecting who to trust, but once Pablo trusts you prepare to have a best friend for life. Pablo is dog and cat friendly and currently lives in a home with an adult male dog and two cats. He absolutely LOVES playing with his foster dog brother. Pablo is so sweet even the cats will tolerate a few kisses from him. Pablo has not been tested with children, but his foster believes he would do fine with older children as long as they give him space while he adjusts to a new home since Pablo is initially weary around new people. Once he warms up though children should also be tolerant of a lot of kisses as Pablo just can’t contain his affection sometimes. This goofy boy is unsure about a lot of things in this world, especially his own reflection. He's often startled by his reflection in shiny surfaces or mirrors. Pablo is house trained, and kennel trained, he walks decently on a leash but makes frequent stops to bark at things that confuse him (trash cans, fire hydrants, flowerpots; a lot of things confuse Pablo). As silly as he seems Pablo is a fast learner and knows sit, lay down, and wait. Pablo would love a patient home with another dog friend who REALLY likes to play. Pablo is still young so he would do best in a home with a family who will spend time walking him and playing with him to get all his energy out. Pablo will require time to warm up to new people so his ideal home would be an understanding family who will let Pablo come to them on his own time. Pablo came to us from a family that had unfortunately run out of housing options. Pablo and his family were facing the possibility of spending the night outside in 20 below temperatures when K9 Kindness stepped in. The dogs were placed into foster homes that night. Pablo immediately took a liking to his foster dog brother, but it took Pablo several days to even approach his foster mom. Pablo is still skittish around new people in the house and will keep his distance and retreat if approached. Through all this though Pablo’s absolutely loving, silly personality shines through. He will make an amazing companion. Pablo will be neutered before adoption. He is current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. To meet Pablo, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. As a reminder, we are not a shelter location and require a scheduled meet and greet. Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
