Pappy

Hi I’m Pappy, short for Pappy VanWinkle! I am an older guy but I play like I’m still a puppy! My two favorite things in the world are tennis balls and laps. I’ll fetch a tennis ball (or anything you throw) all day long if you keep it moving for me and I am not shameful about staring into your eyes until you let me on your lap! Up until recently I spent my life as a single child with all of my pawrents attention to myself. When my pawrents have to leave me at home I sure do worry about them a ton. Sometimes I would hurt myself if they make me stay in a crate when they leave but I have been working on that a lot with my foster dad, maybe you can help me with that too? He calls it my “safe place” and fills it with my bed and toys that I like and never locks the door so I can come and go as I please. Its been working out so far and sometimes I even spend the night in there now that it’s not so scary. I have had six different owners in my life and that has been the hardest thing for me, I so desperately want to follow everyone I meet so they will stay with me forever. For a big chunk of my life food was scarce so I like to eat meals by myself away from any furiends that might try to sneak some of my dinner. When I moved into my foster home I met a four-legged furiend and man have I loved having another guy like me around! I really think I need to be part of a nice pack to help remind me that everything is okay, even when our pawrents are away, but cats are no go for me. I walk well on a leash and am definitely motivated to learn with treats. Like, allllll the treats! Do you think you and your fur babies have room for me in your pack? Adopters are required to come to us to meet the pets. We cannot ship or transport animals.
