My Story

Please note donations using the SPONSOR ME tab will not go to Fluffy Dog Rescue. Also, we do not respond to the "Considering this pet for adoption" link on the right hand side of the listings. This is put on by Petfinder and we operate differently. We want you to go to our website and complete and application. To Locate Our Application go to http://rescue.fluffydog.net/how-to-adopt.html MY AGE: DOB 8/30/20 WEIGHT: 15 lbs MY STORY: Paris is such a sweetheart! She was rescued from a breeder and gave birth to three adorable puppies on 2/8/24 shortly after arriving to our facility. Paris did fantastic with her mom duties and she is now ready and excited to start her new life with no more momma responsibilities! Due to Paris’s past coming from a breeder, she is quite skittish and shy. She needs time to warm up to people and is easily startled. She will need a safe, quiet home where she can decompress, and an adopter that is prepared to give her TLC but also recognize that she will require time to acclimate and open up on her own terms! Paris will need work to become familiar with walking on a leash, which will come with time as well as she settles in and becomes more comfortable. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys spending her playtime with many other small dogs, and especially loves cozying up on a cot with her friends for naps. Paris is a beautiful girl and we are continuing to watch her blossom with us over time! Foster update 6/24: Paris is a breeder-dog released from an Amish farm. She will be 4 years old in August and is a 13 pound Miniature Poodle. Paris has been thrust into a world that is very unfamiliar to her....Leashes, collars, walks, houses, people and human touch. What’s happening??? Well, I have had her in my home and.… rehab is happening!! Her biggest obstacle is fear. She is in the habit of cowering with an occasional darting “away” from people. Even though she looks at me very cautiously, she is accepting pets from me. On occassion, I even get a finger kiss from her as she licks my hand. Her accomplishment to date is knowing that all potties are to be done outside. It takes her awhile to finally do her business but it is always outside. No accidents in the house. Life with Paris is going to be a process to get her to trust. She is very gentle and submissive; however, she does not like larger dogs. I believe it may just be fear but as of now, I would say she should not be in a home with larger dogs. She was at a friends home that had a few smaller dogs and she was fine with them. Time will tell us a little more as she gets adjusted and more relaxed. Breeder-release dogs have usually been traumitized, whether emotionally or physically. Therefore it will be a process of time, love, patience and acceptance to help them reach their potential. I’m not a trainer of any kind, just a foster mom who strives to help and love each dog that comes into my home. I want to help them live in a home so they can find their second chance at life by getting adopted into their forever family. Please read about breeder releases on our resources page before applying. Dogs needing foster homes are available for adoption This dog does need a foster home. Have you ever considered fostering a dog? For more information, see the Fluffy dog rescue home page. ADOPTION FEE: $750 To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess. WI License #270548. Check out Fluffy Dog Wellness on our Home Page.
