Paulina

Meet Paulina! Paulina entered Devore Shelter as a stray, and as soon as her required hold period ended on January 21st, we scooped her up to become a Frosted Face. She is around 15 years old, weighs 61 lbs., and is just the sweetest girl. Paulina came to us with a large mass on her chest, and thankfully it was determined to be operable. She had surgery in June to remove it and came through with flying colors! She is so happy to be free of the cumbersome mass that hindered her mobility and is now ready to live her best life! Paulina is happy, easy-going, and calm. She love sattention, pets, and treats, which she takes very gently. She is great with other dogs and cats, too! Paulina went on a two-week Frosted Fling to enjoy some TLC in the comforts of a home, and she earned rave reviews for being a wonderful houseguest. Her Fling Mom reports: "Paulina is a big sweet huggy bear! She really seemed to enjoy all the love, hugs and kisses she gets but does not demand attention. She is super quiet. She did not bark even once. She takes treats very gently and loves, loves, loves any treat you give her - even fruit pieces! Paulina adjusted well into the house setting. She is totally house-trained if you leave the door open for her to go out, or if you take her out every few hours. She naps frequently but likes to hang outside for a bit. She gets along with my other dog and ignores the cats. Paulina is a gentle, loving girl and whoever adopts her will be so lucky!" Paulina went on a second Fling and earned similar praise: "Paulina is such a sweetheart! She loves being around our other dog and us humans. And she loves treats and takes them gently! She loves being outside in the sunshine and would hang out with us in our courtyard and backyard. She can walk farther than we thought! While she walks slowly, she was able to do 0.5 miles in our neighborhood no problem and walks well on a leash. She does needs help with her back end to get up sometimes. Especially in the morning when she is stiff! Also I think would do best in a single story home or would have to always be downstairs (which she seemed fine with) as she could not get up the stairs at our house. She never makes a peep! Never once did she bark! Overall Paulina is just a sweet pup that loves being surrounded by others (humans and animals alike) and loves gentle pets and attention as well as some outdoor time."
