My Story

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Peaches' entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Peaches - a 7+ year old, Black Mouth Cur mix, who weighs approximately 45 pounds (as of 5/19/24) and was found as a stray. Peaches came into our care as a proud momma to 6 beautiful babies! She was an amazing momma but it was very hart on her. She was very underweight, had heartworms and was scared / timid -- who could blame her?! Her babies were born in the woods, and she raised them on here own while she was scavenging for food. Today, Peaches is a completely different dog who has none of those concerns!! She has a full belly, a warm bed, and lots of lovin' from everyone around her! Her foster shares: "Peaches is everything you could ask for -- she is kind, gentle and loving. She is wonderful with everyone she meets, and ADORES children. She has had a very sad life to date, but we've made a promise to ensure she only experiences love, warmth and protection from here on out. Peaches deserves the best, and can't wait to have a loving family to call her own!" This sweet momma has been waiting more than 2 months to find her forever family. Let's show her how we feel about momma dogs who take care of their babies!!! They deserve the best! And we hope this new video shows you why!! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Peaches, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $425] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
